2nd June - 10th July 2009

A lot of this time was wasted on waiting for a nice day to film outside shots for the promotional DVD this was abandoned and I went to film the shots using indoor locations around the school. I made the link between the DVD and the radio advert, by using the same script for both, this way I felt viewers of either will see the link between the two and npt be two confused by a lot of conflicting ideas for the sixth form.

1st June 2009

I used this time to formulate a script for my radio advert, I also had the idea of linking both the radio advert and promotional DVD. I thought this a good idea as the viewer would be able to link the two and they could feel a similarity.

5th - 22nd May 2009

I used this time to create a finished poster design on the computer, I used a muix of Microsoft Word and Publisher, using pictures from the existing leaflet holder as the client said he liked them.

29th April - 5th May 2009

I used this time in lessons to draw up a final draft for my poster. Adding colour to my drawing and spacing it out how I wanted it. The drawing can be found in my journal awith annotations.

27th March 2009

I decided to abondon the idea of the leaflet holder as the clinet had expressed a keenness for the existing one and I thought on budget terms a poster would be easier and cheaper to produce. I will use ideas from the my drafts as the client seemed happy with them.

24th April 2009

I organised another meeting with the client to discuss further my ideas and to talk about budgeting, he gave certain advice as wanting to keep the existing logo for the sixthform.

23rd April 2009

I started to research into companys that would copy the DVD on a mass level, I found a website called 'Duplication Centre' that offered cheap prices such as £1.11 to duplicate the DVD 100 times with a spindle. I took a screen print of this webbsite and stuck it into my journal.

22nd April 2009

I found a map of the centre of Birmingham with printers marked on it and stuck it in my journal. I also found the best website out of many I researched for printing the leaflets I stuck a print screen of this website into my journal as well. The website 'Hannah Print' would print 'folders' simular to the leaflets I wanted for between £613 and £650 for 250 or 500, respectivly.

20th April 2009

I started to look at budget; how much the campagn for King's Norton Sixth Form would cost. First of all I called the Birmingham radio stations BRMB and Galaxy. They said that advertisng on their rasio stations would cost between £500 and £800 pund depending on the length of the advert.

3rd April 2009

I asked the client if he had a spare copy of the existing leaflet I could use as inspiration, I stuck it into my journal for ideas.

2nd April 2009

I had organised a meeting witht he clint this day to discuss my ideas for the project, he had no complaints of what I had done but he did say that he liked the existing leaflet, this could change my idea on the print advertisment.

1st April 2009

I moved on from my designs of the print advertisements to a draft storyboard for the promotional DVD, running on the same ideas of the added responsibility of sixth form and shots of students enjoying themselves.

30th March 2009

I continued to work on my preliminary ideas for my print advertisments looking at how the current leaflet contains the DVD and any added extras.

25 -26th March 2009

Looking in depth at my print adverts I drew up some preliminary desings, including as the focus groups had concluded, images of students at break or lunchtime as well as the added responsibilty of doing experiments on there own, significant acting roles or musically.

23rd March 2009

I started to look at drafts for my print advertisement, running on the idea of it being a leaflet for the promotional DVD. Akin to that of the already existing leaflet given out at open evenings.

20th March 2009

I had the results of my questionaire in with 20 patricapants. The results are recorded in my journal.

19th March 2009

I organised my focus group for this day to disccus ideas for my project with people that had already gone through the process of selecting a sixth form, deciding on what kind of images and information should go into my advertisements and why. Such as students enjoying themselves or looking like they have more responsibility then they did in secondary education. I also made a start on my quistionaires to ask the same questions.
