16th March 2009
I went into the analysis of television adverts, looking at adverts and who they are aimed at and techniques they have used. This gives me an idea of techniques I could use as well as ways in which advertisiers try to appeal to their target audiences.

I started to look at the use of phsycographic information and demographic information, phsycographic being the study of someone as an individual and demographic as a group.

I finished print advertising and started research into the relationship between advertisning and the audience, looking at the hypodermic needle method.

Today I finished my research into the codes and conventions of television advertising and then went into the conventions of radio advertisng, aswell as starting print advertising.

Today I started to research the codes and conventions of televisiona adverts, looking at things such as the use of humour and animation.

Today I did more research into other colleges, looking at University College Birmingham and Bournville College I learnt that an important tool in advertising could be Vox Populas, latin for voice of the people ;)

Today I researched into the History of Advertising and learnt about it's origins, like how the Egyptians advertised on papyrus or how in the largely illiterate middle ages advertising was just done with pictures on signs.

Today I researched into The Advertising Standards Authority and The Press Complaints Commission as well as printing out my old research for the Broadcasters Audience Research Board.
2nd March 2009
Today was the meeting with Mr Newman, I discussed my ideas for the project and he gave me some back, such as how he'd prefer it to use the school's colours.

Today I researched further into different sixth forms and colleges approaches to advertising, I found out about techniques used and ways that they have done it.
